How to Make Peach French Toast with Maple Syrup
Be sure to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions!
- Make the bourbon maple syrup by combining the maple syrup, bourbon, and vanilla on low heat.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Fully coat the skillet with 1 tbsp of butter.
- Dip 1-2 slices of bread at a time in the mixture making sure to coat all sides of the bread.
- Cook on the skillet for 2 minutes per side or until brown.
- Repeat for the rest of the bread, adding in more butter when needed.
- Serve the french toast immediately and top with butter, a dusting of confectioners’ sugar, the bourbon maple syrup, and sliced peaches.
Bourbon may not be a product you keep around your house and that’s okay! Or, you may just not want to take the extra steps of making the bourbon maple syrup. You can use regular maple syrup if you want to!
You don’t have to. Some people prefer the crunch of the skin and want that crisp fresh flavor. If you want softer peaches, you can cook them with 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon brown sugar for 2-3 minutes before serving.
You can keep the slices of french toast warm in a 250°F oven for up to 30 minutes before serving. You should do this with only the toast slices, without the syrup, peaches, or any other garnish, or else they will get soggy.
Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Make sure you only cook 1-2 slices of toast at a time so you do not overcrowd your skillet.
- Make sure to keep the skillet buttered, usually every couple of slices, to keep the toast from sticking.
- Serve the French toast immediately after cooking, unless you are keeping them warm in the oven.
This delicious breakfast combines fresh fruit, a flavorful syrup, and a favorite classic. You’ll want to make it for breakfast every day!
