Instructions
For Traditional Fairy Bread with Butter
Spread a thin layer of softened butter on each slice of bread. The butter should be thin, but thick enough to have sprinkles adhere to the bread.
8 slices soft white bread, ¼ cup unsalted butter
Cut off crusts. Then, cut the slices in half diagonally.
Sprinkle with candy sprinkles of your choice.
¼ cup sprinkles
Have fun decorating and eating!
For Nutella Fairy Bread
Spread the chocolate hazelnut spread on half of the bread slices.
8 slices soft white bread, ¼ cup chocolate hazelnut spread
Cut off the crusts of all slices. Then, cut all of the slices in half.
Place the plain bread slices on a cutting board or other firm surface.
Using tiny cookie cutters, cut out a shape out of the plain bread.
Now place a slice of the plain bread on a slice of the chocolate hazelnut bread.
Sprinkle the candy sprinkles of your choice in the cut outs.
¼ cup sprinkles
Have fun and enjoy!
Notes
For the Chocolate Hazelnut cut-outs, if you want to cover the ½ slice of bread with sprinkles first, then you will need to put a little of the Chocolate Hazelnut spread on the top piece of bread in order for it to stick.
It’s best to use good old-fashioned soft white bread.
I don’t suggest using some of these newer thicker candy sprinkles because some would be too crunchy for this recipe.
Make sure you're cutting off the crusts of your bread before you sprinkle anything on it. If you like the crusts, you can always leave them on instead of cutting them off.
Nutritional information is for 1 slice each of the traditional fairy and the hazelnut bread.
