My classic blondies are soft, chewy, and deliciously easy! Filled with brown sugar, vanilla, white chocolate chips, and baking powder for a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups unsalted butter 1½ sticks; melted*
  • ¾ cup brown sugar lightly packed
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips optional**

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Line a 9x9 pan with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick baking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.

  • Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.

  • Add the flour and baking powder then fold in the dry ingredients until no large lumps remain; about 1 minute of gentle folding.

  • Fold in the white chocolate chips, if using.

  • Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake until an inserted toothpick comes out clean; about 28-30 minutes.

  • Cool completely in the pan, then slice and enjoy.

Notes

*Be sure to fully melt the butter, not just soften it. Melted butter gives the dense and chewy texture we want.
**I like adding white chocolate chips for a rich and creamy flavor infusion. But these blondies taste great without them too. You could also swap white chocolate for butterscotch or peanut butter chips!
Becky's Top Tips:
  • For best results and even baking, be sure to let the oven fully preheat.
  • When you line the pan with parchment, it should overhang so that you can easily lift out the baked blondie bars.
  • The blondies should cool completely in the pan before removing and cutting.
Storage: Store leftover blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
