Lightly spiced, sweet, and perfectly crunchy, this Halloween Chex mix is one of my favorite fall snacks to make during spooky season. Made with Apple Cinnamon Chex, pretzels, caramel Bugles, and a buttery brown sugar drizzle, this harvest snack mix tastes like fall in every bite. My kids love helping me make it, and it always turns out super cute with the candy pumpkins and candy corn mixed in. I whip up a batch of this harvest hash every October, and it’s become one of our favorite traditions for trick-or-treating nights and fall parties.

Harvest Hash Snack Mix with Candy Corn
Sweet and salty is always a winning combo, and this Halloween Chex mix delivers big on both. It’s got that cozy fall flavor from Apple Cinnamon Chex and caramel Bugles, plus plenty of crunch from pretzels. Once you add the candy corn, pumpkins, and Reese’s Pieces, you’ve got a Halloween snack mix that’s festive, colorful, and totally irresistible.
I love that this harvest hash is so easy to throw together. I usually make a double batch because my kids and their friends fly through it! Over the years, I’ve tested different flavor combos, but this version with the warm brown sugar drizzle is the one everyone always requests. It’s quick, fun, and perfect for school parties, movie nights, or handing out in little Halloween treat bags.

Brown the Butter for Richer Flavor
If you love warm and toasty flavor and want even more of that in your Halloween Chex mix, try browning the butter before adding the sugar and spices to it. Not only will it add a nutty sweetness to your snack mix, but it will also bloom the pie spice, enhancing its flavor as well!
To do this, simply melt the butter in a small pot set over medium-high heat, then whisk constantly until the butter is foamy and golden brown. Let the butter cool for about 5 minutes before stirring in the pie spice (this will keep it from burning). It’s a simple step, but it takes this harvest Chex mix from good to unforgettable.

How to Make Halloween Chex Mix Step-by-Step
Prep: Gather the list of ingredients for this Halloween snack mix recipe. Preheat your oven to 250°F, line a 12×16-inch baking sheet with parchment (if desired), and set aside. Melt the butter by microwaving it for 30-60 seconds.

Season the Butter: Whisk ½ cup of melted salted butter, ¼ cup of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice together in a small bowl.

Toss the Mix: In a separate large bowl, toss 4 cups of Apple Cinnamon Chex cereal, 3 cups of Bugles Sweet & Salty Caramel Corn Snacks, and 3 cups of mini pretzel twists together, then drizzle the butter mix over top and toss again to combine. I like to drizzle in the butter slowly, mixing gently, to ensure every piece is evenly coated.

Bake the Mix: Toss the Chex mix out onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, tossing every 15 minutes or until the Chex mix is a deep golden color. Let it cool for at least 30 minutes, then toss in 1 cup of candy corn, 1 cup of Brach’s Mellowcreme Pumpkins, and 1 cup of Reese’s Pieces. If you add these mix-ins too early, they will melt into a mess, so be patient!

Add the Candies: Toss everything well to combine. I like to do this in a large bowl, but you can also do it on the baking sheet. Then serve this Halloween snack mix as you please: in large bowls at parties, or in snack bags ready to hand out.
