These pretzel and rolo turtles are some of the easiest treats I’ve ever made! The flavor combo of salty, sweet, and nutty is so good, and they make such a great easy addition to any holiday table!
I love my classic turtle candies but wanted to make them even easier. With just 3 simple ingredients– hard pretzels, creamy sweet Rolo candies, and crunchy pecans– this easy pretzel and Rolo turtles recipe is a great quick treat to make in a pinch!
What’s in This Pretzel and Rolo Turtles Recipe?
- Pretzels: Form the base and make the little arms and legs of the turtles. While any pretzel will work, I recommend using pretzel snaps or classic twists. They’re the perfect size!
- Rolos: Melt and squish to create an indulgent chocolate-and-caramel glue for the pretzel and pecan. Grab the unwrapped ones if you can find them.
- Pecans: I like to use pecan halves for the neatest look.

How to Store
Store leftover pretzel and Rolo turtles in an airtight container or Ziplock bag at room temperature for up to 1 week, in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Enjoy at room temperature.
Tips for Success
- If you can’t find Rolos, unwrapped caramels work well! Be sure to be very vigilant and watch as they bake to ensure that the caramel only becomes soft enough to press the pecans down into it. If the caramel gets too warm, it will melt onto the pan, bubble and possibly burn.
- You can use Hershey’s Kisses, mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, or any other mini candy bar!
- Work fast so that the Rolos don’t have a chance to set back up!
- For an extra flare, drizzle the finished turtles with caramel or chocolate sauce.
