Fresh or Frozen Fruit
This drink can be made with fresh or frozen fruit! I love to use fresh strawberries and bananas for my smoothies when I have them on hand. But frozen berries or bananas work great for meal prep.

Notes
- The consistency of the smoothie may be slightly thicker if you use whole milk. However, I think this smoothie is delicious made with milk, plant-based milk, coconut water, or regular water.
- Feel free to add Greek yogurt, protein powder, or chia seeds to amp up this healthy smoothie! These ingredients will also help thicken the smoothie.
- You can easily change up this simple strawberry banana recipe by using different fruits. Keep the banana to achieve that creamy consistency, but feel free to swap out the strawberries for blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or pitted cherries. Or add them all!
- Nutritional information does not include optional add-ins.
Smoothie Add-ins
Since this simple smoothie recipe is made with just 3 ingredients, it makes a great base for add-ins! If you want to make a strawberry banana protein smoothie, simply add in your favorite protein powder. I like using a vanilla flavor for this drink. Chia seeds are another healthy addition, or add Greek yogurt (along with or instead of milk) for an extra creamy texture. Or add blueberries, mango, a handful of spinach, or any extras.
How to Make a Strawberry Banana Smoothie Step-by-Step
Prep: Gather the smoothie ingredients, and chop up the strawberries and banana (if using fresh fruit).

Blend: Add 1½ cups of strawberries, 1 ripe banana, 1 cup of milk, and 1-2 cups of ice to a blender container, then blend until smooth. Add more liquid, ice, or fruit until your desired thickness is achieved. If using fresh strawberries, add a little more ice!

Serve: Enjoy your strawberry banana smoothie immediately for the freshest flavor and creamiest texture!

How to Store
Store a leftover strawberry banana smoothie in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Mix or shake well before enjoying. For longer storage, pour the blended smoothie into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid. It will keep well this way for up to 1 month. Blend when ready to drink!
