This brownie fruit pizza is one of my favorite ways to turn a classic brownie into a fresh, festive dessert, especially for kids who “don’t do” cake. I start with a round pan of rich, fudgy brownies (yes, boxed mix works great here!), top it with a homemade cream cheese whipped frosting, then pile on a colorful variety of fresh fruit. It’s fun to make, always looks impressive, and best of all, it encourages my kids to eat more fruit without a fuss.

Brownie Pizza Recipe
As a longtime home baker and mom, I’ve tested plenty of kid-friendly dessert ideas, and this dessert pizza always disappears fast. The contrast of dense, chocolatey brownie, tangy whipped topping, and fresh juicy fruit is surprisingly balanced and sweet, but not too sweet.
Brownie pizza is the kind of easy, crowd-pleasing dessert I find myself coming back to again and again, whether I’m hosting a casual cookout or just looking for a fun way to use up fresh summer berries. With just a few ingredients and less than an hour start-to-finish, it’s one of the best desserts to serve in the summertime!

Use What You Have
While I love the round “pizza” look, you can absolutely bake the brownie in a square pan if that’s what you’ve got on hand. Just cut it into squares instead of wedges.

For the Frosting and Toppings
- 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature (1 brick)

- ¾ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1½ cups fresh mixed berries (I used strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
- ½ cup freshly sliced and peeled kiwi
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9-inch springform pan by spraying it with nonstick spray. Set aside
- Prepare the brownies according to instructions on the back of the box. Spread the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake according to package directions. A little brownie mix might leak out while baking but it shouldn’t be much.18 ounces brownie mix, ¼ cup water, ⅓ cup vegetable oil, 1 large egg
- While the brownies bake, use a hand mixer to beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Beat until light and fluffy, about 5-7 minutes.8 ounces cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, ¾ teaspoon pure vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

- Frost brownie pizza with cream cheese frosting and top with strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, and raspberries.1½ cups fresh mixed berries, ½ cup freshly sliced and peeled kiwi
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Slice, plate and enjoy.
Notes
- Feel free to mix and match the types of fruit you use as decoration. The sky is the limit here
- If you’re making this brownie dessert for a 4th of July party, make it patriotic with just blueberries and strawberries!
- I recommend beating the cream cheese mixture for 5-7 minutes so that it is nice and light and fluffy. When it’s not beaten, it is pretty dense and heavy.
- For an even lighter topping option, use whipped cream instead of the homemade cream cheese whipped frosting.
- For an extra twist, drizzle some caramel sauce on top to serve (or give people the option to use it on their slice).
How to Make a Brownie Pizza Step-by-Step
Gather your Ingredients: Gather up everything you need to begin. Preheat your oven to 350°F, spray a 9-inch springform pan with nonstick spray, and set aside. Bring the cream cheese to room temperature, peel and slice the kiwi, and chop the strawberries (or any other oversized fruits you choose).

Bake the Brownies: Mix 18 ounces (1 box) of brownie mix, ¼ cup of water, ⅓ cup of vegetable oil, and 1 large egg in a large bowl. Spread the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake according to package directions. A little brownie mix might leak out while baking, but it shouldn’t be much. You can wrap the outside of the pan with aluminum foil to help prevent this. I just place my pan on top of a baking sheet to catch any drips.

Make the Frosting: While the brownies bake, use a hand mixer to beat together 8 ounces (1 brick) of room-temperature cream cheese, 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, ¾ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Beat until light and fluffy, about 5-7 minutes.

Cool the Brownies: Take the brownies out of the oven and set aside. Make sure the brownie pizza crust is completely cooled before frosting. You can quickly cool the brownies by chilling for 20-30 minutes or freezing for 15 minutes. I usually opt to freeze when I’m in a hurry.

Frost the Pizza: Frost your brownie pizza with the cream cheese frosting and top with 1½ cups of fresh mixed berries and ½ cup of freshly sliced and peeled kiwi.

Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for 30 minutes (or freeze for 10 minutes) before serving to help the frosting set up. Slice, plate, and enjoy.

How to Store
This brownie pizza is best enjoyed within a few hours of making it. If it sits for too long, the cream cheese frosting and juicy berries may create a liquid consistency. Once you make this brownie fruit pizza, leave it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve it. I recommend serving it within 4 hours for the best results.
You can, of course, store the component parts separately and assemble just before serving. I recommend keeping the brownie crust at room temp and refrigerating the cream cheese and fruits separately.
