I’m a big fan of a holiday-themed snack mix, and this Easter bunny bait recipe is my favorite no-bake treat to make for my little bunnies in the Spring. Made with fruity Cheerios cereal, M&M’s, peanuts, and pretzel sticks, this addictive mix is colorful, sweet, salty, and perfectly crunchy. Every piece is coated in luscious white chocolate, which makes it hard to resist!

Bunny Bait Snack Mix
While this bunny bait may have been designed to catch the Easter bunny, my kids and I can’t stay away either! I always mix up a few batches of this Easter snack mix for parties, or for my kids to enjoy when they get home from school. It takes less than 10 minutes to throw together, and the boys love helping me make it.
I use berry Cheerios as the base of my snack mix instead of Chex cereal, because it adds a fruity, Spring-forward flavor. There are plenty of salty add-ins, like pretzels and peanuts. And the white chocolate drizzle (or should I say dunk) makes every bite irresistible.

Avoid Burnt or Clumpy Chocolate!
Melting chocolate chips in the microwave is pretty straightforward, but you do have to be careful about burning the chocolate. White chocolate chips tend to get clumpy or burn quickly if you’re not paying attention. Check every 15-30 seconds and give it a good stir each time. Adding coconut oil is a simple way to make sure the chocolate turns silky smooth, so it coats the snack mix and sets up perfectly!

Notes
- Take care not to burn the chocolate when you melt it. Heat it in increments in the microwave, or melt it on the stovetop in a double boiler.

- Let the chocolate fully set before enjoying.

Ingredient Swaps & Variations
Like all snack mixes, this Easter bunny bait recipe is super simple and versatile. You can use any combo of cereals, candies, and salty snacks you like or have in your pantry. Here are some ideas!
- Cereal: I like using berry-flavored Cheerios for a fruity twist. Swap in plain, honey nut, or any flavor of Cheerios. Or use Chex rice cereal.
- M&Ms: Get your hands on pastel or Easter-colored M&Ms if you can. Or simply use regular M&Ms (or another flavor), Reese’s pieces, mini eggs, or another candy-coated chocolate.
- Nuts: Dry-roasted peanuts, almonds, cashews, and honey-roasted nuts are all delicious options.
- Pretzels: I prefer to use pretzel sticks, but mini pretzel twists work well too.
- Chocolate: White chocolate chips are an easy option for melting chocolate. Candy melts or baking chocolate can be used if you prefer. I think white chocolate pairs best with this sweet snack mix, but milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate can be used if you like.
- Other Add-ins: Feel free to add in mini marshmallows, popcorn, jelly beans, shredded coconut, or Easter candies.
