This healthy, creamy, and fruity frozen yogurt bark is my favorite snack for the summer. It’s so easy to make with just a few ingredients and 15 minutes of prep, then my freezer does the rest of the work for this dessert. I just sweeten up some Greek yogurt, fill it with berries and nuts, then let it chill. My kids love this healthy treat as much as I do!

Greek Yogurt Bark with Berries

The hot weather has arrived, so I’m in need of more summery snacks and treats to help us cool down. I want to skip the store-bought popsicles, ice creams, and added sugar treats as much as possible, so this frozen yogurt bark has become my go-to!

I love pretzel bark and chocolate bark of all kinds because it’s so darn simple to make. Using creamy Greek yogurt to make frozen bark is the perfect summer alternative, especially when I’m looking for healthy snacks. It satisfies all the same, and I love packing it up for pool days.

It’s the easiest grab-and-go snack, breakfast, or dessert. It’s like having a smoothie all ready to go in my freezer. And the best part is that my boys love this too!

Get Creative Together!

This simple yogurt bark is a great recipe to make with the kids! Let them pick out their favorite add-ins, then sprinkle them across the yogurt. They’ll be even more pleased when they pull the final treat out of the freezer!

There is so much room for customization here. Some of my favorite add-ins are shredded coconut, granola, and sliced banana or mango. All different kinds of berries and nuts will work great. Let me know what your favorite combination is!

Notes

*Greek yogurt works best for freezing. Regular yogurt will turn more icy and watery, while Greek yogurt stays creamy and flavorful. If using a flavored yogurt, you may want to skip the maple and vanilla.
**If you don’t have pure vanilla extract, you can use imitation vanilla flavor. Or use another extract to play with the flavor. Almond would work well for subtle sweetness.
Becky’s Top Tips:
  • This recipe yields about 20-25 pieces. This depends entirely on how you break up the pieces.
  • Expect at least 5 hours for the yogurt to fully freeze and set. I recommend letting it freeze overnight for best results.
  • All add-ins are optional and versatile. You can easily make this recipe your own by adding different fruits and nuts to suit your families tastes.
Storage: Store yogurt bark in a resealable bag or airtight container, in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

How to Make Yogurt Bark Step by Step

Prep: Gather the list of ingredients for this healthy yogurt bark recipe. Slice the berries into smaller pieces so that they are ready to use. Line a 12×16-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Ingredients needed to make this frozen yogurt bark recipe.

Make the Yogurt Base: In a large bowl, whisk together 32 ounces of plain Greek yogurt with ⅓ cup of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. A quick whisk is all it takes! Just make sure the liquid ingredients are well-mixed into the yogurt.

Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla in a mixing bowl.

Spread out the Yogurt: Pour the yogurt mixture onto the prepared baking pan and spread it out into a smooth, even layer. A rubber spatula or the back of a spoon works great for this step.

Yogurt mixture spread in the baking tin.

Top the Yogurt: Next, sprinkle in all your add-ins. I use about ½ cup of blackberries, ½ cup of blueberries, ½ cup of strawberries, ½ cup of sliced almonds, and ⅓ cup of mini chocolate chips. Use whatever you have on hand! Arrange pieces evenly across the top of the yogurt. Gently press down with the back of a spoon to make sure the fruit freezes into the yogurt.

Berries and nuts sprinkled on the yogurt.

Freeze: Place the tray of berry-filled yogurt bark in the freezer, and let it set for at least 5 hours. I recommend letting it set overnight to make sure there are no soft, mushy spots. Once set, break apart the bark with a knife, and serve or store.

How to Store

Store frozen yogurt bark in a freezer-safe, resealable bag; or stack in an airtight container, separated with parchment paper. It will keep well for up to 2 weeks in the freezer. Keep all pieces frozen as much as possible to preserve quality. The more often it’s exposed to warm air, the more it will break down or melt.
