White Chocolate Christmas Chex Mix
Growing up, my favorite holiday treats were my mom’s puppy chow and Christmas cracker toffee. Both snacks are super easy to make and totally addicting, but I wanted to create my own holiday snacking tradition for my family. I came up with this white chocolate covered Chex mix one Christmas Eve, and it’s been a must-make ever since!
My customizable holiday party mix really has everything. It’s sweet, salty, and crunchy, and it has plenty of red and green spirit from both the M&Ms and the sprinkles. I’ve heard others call this type of snack mix “Christmas trash” as well, so maybe you’ve had something similar. No matter what you call it, there’s nothing not to love about my Christmas Chex mix. And it’s perfect for gifting too, so be sure to make a few batches!

Notes

How to Make Christmas Crack Chex Mix Step-by-Step
Prep: Gather the quick list of ingredient for this Christmas snack mix recipe. Feel free to swap some of them out for your preferred candies, cereals, and snack foods. Line 1 or 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

Combine the Snack Mix: In a large bowl, combine 2½ cups of rice Chex, 2½ cups of corn Chex, 2½ cups of pretzels, 2½ cups of Cheerios, 2 cups of peanuts, and 1 cup of red and green M&M’s. Then set the bowl aside.

Melt the Chocolate: Next, place 5 cups of white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until completely smooth and melted. This should take about 1½-2 minutes.

Toss the Mix: Then pour the melted white chocolate into the Chex mixture, and toss until completely coated.

Top with Sprinkles: Spread the mixture onto 1 or 2 parchment-lined baking sheets. Sprinkle each batch with 1 tablespoon of red sprinkles and 1 tablespoon of green sprinkles (or as much as you like). Let the snack mix set until hardened, about 20 minutes. If you want a less chunky result, continue tossing the mixture every few minutes as it dries.

Serve: Once the chocolate has set, break up the mix into small chunks. Serve Christmas Chex mix in bowls at a party, or wrap it up and prep it for gifting.
