How to Store
Store leftover chocolate cake mix cookies in an airtight container or Ziplock bag on the counter for up to 3 days. After 3 days, they won’t be as soft and chewy, but you can still eat them or freeze them for up to 1 month. Let thaw on the counter for at least 30 minutes before enjoying.
Tips for Success
- You can really use any kind of cake mix you like. There are so many great chocolate cake mixes, like Devil’s Food, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or German chocolate.
- If you like your cookies sweeter, add in another half a cup of chocolate chips.
- Feel free to swap out the chocolate chips for flavored baking chips, like white chocolate, cream cheese, cinnamon, or butterscotch!
- Make sure you space your dough out 1-2 inches apart before baking. Otherwise, the cookies just melt and cook together.
- If you prefer to eat warm cookies, only let them cool for about 5 or 10 minutes. Otherwise, let them cool completely.
