This sinfully delicious Better Than Sex Cake is chocolatey, sweet, creamy, and will make you absolutely insatiable! Also known as a lush, this chilled dessert has layers upon layers of sweet decadence.

What’s in this Better Than Sex Cake Recipe?
This easy chocolate dessert recipe starts with a chocolate cake base that’s topped with a sweet cream and caramel sauce and a layer of whipped cream. Garnish the layered cake with a sprinkle of chopped toffee and caramel drizzle for the ultimate dessert.
- Chocolate Cake Mix: Makes this recipe so easy! I like Betty Crocker Devil’s Food, but any kind of chocolate cake mix will work.
- Water: Adds moisture to the cake mix.
- Vegetable Oil: Adds moisture and richness to the cake mix.
- Eggs: Adds structure and richness to the cake mix.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: Helps to create a rich, thick, creamy sauce that melts into the cake.
- Caramel Sauce: Adds delicious caramel flavor to the sauce.
- Whipped Topping: The perfect light and fluffy topping for this rich and indulgent cake.
- Toffee Candy: Chopped Heath bars are a wonderful option for the toffee candy topping. Chopped Butterfinger, Snickers, or peanut butter cups would also be delicious!
Pro Tip: Before adding the whipped topping, make sure the cake is completely cool (an hour in the refrigerator should do the trick!). If the cake is still warm, the whipped topping will melt quickly.
Variations on Better Than Sex Dessert
You can make this delicious dessert with just about any cake mix your heart desires. Try French vanilla, butter pecan, German chocolate, red velvet, strawberry, or spice cake mix for a different flavor.
Top with any chopped candy you like, such as Almond Joy, Twix bars, 3 Musketeers, or Milky Way. You could also crumble up some brownie cookies, peanut butter cookies, or kitchen sink cookies. You could even add chopped nuts!
For even more chocolatey flavor, swap the whipped topping for chocolate whipped topping.

Better than sex cake, also known as better than anything cake, is a cake consisting of a chocolate cake mix, a moist caramel and condensed milk center, and a whipped topping coated in toffee bits.
While using a boxed cake mix saves time, feel free to make a homemade chocolate cake as the base layer for this dessert.
While you can absolutely use homemade whipped cream, I recommend using whipped topping because it is more stable and will not melt into the cake as it sits. If you do choose to use homemade whipped cream, I recommend waiting until you’re ready to serve the cake to top it with whipped cream.
